Move with awareness, from the ground up

Groups of six, an eight-week progression, and teachers who explain the basics instead of assuming you already know them.

What your first class actually looks like

No performance and no mirrors to impress. A group of six people, one instructor, and a sequence you can follow from the first breath to the last.

  1. Before you arrive

    Reserve one of six mats

Pick a session from the schedule and book it. We ask two short questions about old injuries and how you sleep, then place you with five other beginners so the pace suits the whole room.

  2. Ten minutes early

Settle in and meet your instructor

Mats, blocks and straps are already laid out. Change, put your phone away, and take a seat on your mat. Your instructor introduces themselves and shows you where the props sit, so nothing surprises you later.

  3. First fifteen minutes

    A short check-in, standing still

We start with breath and weight distribution, feet bare on the mat. This is how body awareness is taught here: you learn what your shoulders and hips are doing before anything moves.

  4. The main practice

    Foundational techniques, built slowly

Six to eight shapes, repeated with small adjustments and plenty of rest. Controlled movement means the instructor can correct your alignment in person, at your mat, without interrupting the rest of the group.

  5. After class

    Two notes to take home

You leave with a short note on what to notice in your body this week and which session comes next in the eight-week progression. Most people start with the same one, so you will not be the newest for long.

Foundational Techniques

The skills we build first, in order

Every session in the eight-week beginner program returns to the same few techniques until they feel automatic. Open any item to see what you will actually practise, and how a group of no more than six people makes it comfortable.

No flexibility or previous experience is required.

Student words

What week six actually feels like

I walked in convinced I was too stiff for yoga. Six weeks later I can feel where my weight sits in my feet, and when a pose pinches I know how to adjust it instead of pushing through. With six people in the room, the instructor corrects one shoulder at a time.
